You may recall in recent weeks at St. Louis couple arming up and defending their very expensive home against hundreds of Black Lives Matter ‘demonstrators’ who had busted through a locked gate into the private community and began threatening them.
You may have also read that the couple expressed support for the BLM movement and Democrats in general.
Well, the husband — lawyer Mark McCloskey — did an interview this week in which he cleared up a few ‘misperceptions,’ as it were.
Speaking to Daily Wire host Michael Knowles on Wednesday, McCloskey made it very clear he was neither a supporter of the “Marxist” BLM movement nor a Democrat.
“I want to set the record straight on one thing. I’ve been reading a lot of reports about me from the media… Some of whom have accused me of being a Democrat, and I have donated money to various candidates, particularly ones who were personal friends of mine over the years, but I’ve been a lifelong Republican,” he said, as reported by Big League Politics.
He went on to explain that he believes that the Black Lives Matter movement has been essentially transformed into a Marxist cultural movement (or maybe it was one all along) and that he’s not at all supportive of that.
“Another thing I’d like to clear up is that the media reports me as being a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement and I am certainly not,” he said, Big League Politics site reported.
“Black Lives Matter, to my understanding, is a Marxist organization opposed to everything I stand for and everything I hold near and dear. I do stand for equal justice under the law, but that’s got nothing to do with this terrorist organization known as Black Lives Matter,” he added.
An earlier press release from the couple’s attorney seemed to indicate they were Democrats who were fully on board with the BLM movement.
It should be noted that after the initial ‘invasion’ of BLM protesters was repelled by the armed couple, demonstrators returned within a day, but the McCloskeys were ready: They had hired an armed private security team and were not molested in any way. Also, they boarded up several windows on the ground level of the home.

So in other words, because they dared to defend their private property in an armed manner — which in Missouri is perfectly legal under “Stand Your Ground” laws — they now have to live in an armed encampment fearful for their safety.
All of which has been lost on St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner, a black Democrat who’s running for reelection this year. For their act of self-defense, she is considering filing charges…against the McCloskeys.
“I am alarmed at the events that happened over the weekend, where peaceful protestors were met by guns and a violent assault,” she said in a statement last week. “We must protect the right to peacefully protest, and any attempt to chill it through intimidation or threat of deadly force will not be tolerated. “My office is currently working with the public and the police to investigate these events. Make no mistake: We will not tolerate the use of force against those exercising their First Amendment rights, and will use the full power of Missouri law to hold people accountable,” she added.
That is simply unreal, especially given the fact that the couple has noted that they were being threatened with physical harm and death.
Mark McCloskey, 63, and his wife Patricia, 61, said they had no choice but to resort to their Second-Amendment right to self-defense because the police didn’t show up after they frantically called 911 begging for help.
The McCloskeys said they only retrieved their guns when they saw that the mob who had trespassed on their property were themselves armed and began threatening to hurt them.
It’s come to a point in our history where a man and woman defending their homes against a mob is illegal, thanks to Democrats.
No wonder the McCloskeys are Republicans.
